Abstract : Turkey's tourism industry has reached new heights as it enters the peak summer travel season. In May this year, the number of foreign visitors to Turkey surged to 5.1 million, marking a 14% increase compared to the same period last year. This momentum has solidified Turkey's position as a global tourism hotspot.

According to statistics from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, from January to May this year, Turkey welcomed approximately 15.8 million foreign tourists, a nearly 12.5% increase year-on-year. Including over 2 million Turkish citizens residing abroad returning home, the total number of visitors has approached 17.1 million. These figures reflect a robust recovery and growth in Turkey's tourism sector, highlighting its potential as a significant economic engine.

In 2023, Turkey set a historic record by hosting 49.2 million foreign tourists, generating USD 54.32 billion in tourism revenue, a significant increase from USD 46.48 billion in 2022. The government expects inbound tourists to reach 60 million this year, with projected tourism revenues rising to USD 60 billion, underscoring Turkey's importance in economic recovery and sustainable development.
