Ms. Tapani, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), outlined the direction for Thailand's tourism recovery and development in 2025 during a tourism conference held on July 15th at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. She emphasized leading Thailand's tourism industry into a new era of glory by boosting demand, enhancing supply, and rejuvenating Thailand's tourism system comprehensively towards sustainable development.
Ms. Tapani highlighted that to achieve these goals, Thailand will collaborate closely with industry partners, focusing on the core selling points of "Thai charm" and "cities worth visiting" to attract both domestic and international tourists. She announced that the target for Thailand's tourism economy in 2025 is to achieve tourism revenue growth of not less than 7.5%, surpassing the GDP growth rate by 1.7 times.

Predictions indicate that by 2025, Thailand will once again lead the global tourism industry, with foreign visitors expected to exceed 39 million and domestic tourists surpassing 205 million. This achievement will underscore the crucial role of Thailand's tourism sector in driving economic, social, and public prosperity, solidifying Thailand as a prominent world-class tourist destination.
Mr. Sensa, Minister of Tourism and Sports, further elaborated during the conference that under Thailand's "Igniting Thailand" policy, tourism is regarded as one of the eight key pillars driving economic development. The policy aims to position Thailand as a regional tourism hub, thereby enhancing the quality of life for its citizens. He emphasized that achieving this vision necessitates focusing on several key aspects:
Firstly, establishing Thailand's tourism industry as a model of high-quality and sustainable tourism. Secondly, attracting high-spending, long-stay visitors who actively engage in environmental responsibilities. Lastly, upgrading the tourism industry chain to enhance capacity, promote sustainable development standards, and comprehensively promote "cities worth visiting" to ensure fair and equitable distribution of tourism revenue, thus achieving sustainable and balanced growth goals for Thailand's tourism industry.
